The Berean Notebook is a Chrome extension that helps you take notes and look up Bible verses in a side panel. This page explains what data the extension uses and how.

What We Collect

The Berean Notebook does not collect, sell, or transmit any personal information about you. There are no accounts, no sign-ups, and no analytics or tracking of any kind.

What’s Stored

All notes you type, your selected Bible translation, and your page tabs are stored locally on your own device using Chrome’s built-in storage (chrome.storage.local). This data:

• Never leaves your device except as described below
• Is not accessible to us, the developer, or any third party
• Stays on your device until you clear it yourself or uninstall the extension

What Gets Sent Externally

When you type a Bible verse reference (for example, “John 3:16”), the extension sends that reference to bible-api.com to retrieve the verse text. This is the only external request the extension makes.

• Only the verse reference itself is sent (e.g., “John 3:16”) — never your notes, your name, or any other personal information
• We do not control bible-api.com’s own data practices; you can review their service directly if you have questions about how they handle requests

No Ads, No Tracking

The Berean Notebook contains no advertising, no third-party analytics, and no tracking scripts of any kind.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes, the “Last updated” date above will be revised. Continued use of the extension after changes means you accept the updated policy.
